Dear Parents and Carers,

First of all thank you for all your support at this challenging time, all your help at home is greatly appreciated. 

We know that things are difficult and we are all trying to do the best we can given the current situation, please don’t feel under pressure to do everything.

Please find below the activities for the week beginning Monday 16th November, until Thursday 19th November. The children can the return to school as normal on Friday 20th November - and we can't wait to welcome them back!

Maths - for each of the activities there is a short teaching video to accompany it, these can be found at https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/week-5/ . The accompanying video has the same name as the worksheet it relates to. Worksheets can be printed or completed on paper from the screen. When accessing the site via a phone or tablet, please check the order of the days as they can sometimes be muddled up.

Extra Challenge

English -   These activities can be done in any order although it is important to watch the Gingerbread Man before completing the Design and Technology lesson.

As well as the activities below, you could practise spelling the days of the week and months of the year then write each one in a sentence and draw a picture to go with it.

Watch the book then practise retelling the story. You can do this by acting it out, drawing a cartoon strip of it , or use your sliders to tell it to someone else.

Science - Watch 'Come Outside - Rubbish'. then complete the 'Reuse activity. You can then photograph or draw/label your model then send it to us!

You can then enjoy the story 'Michael Recycle' and listen to some top tips! Then make a poster to tell everyone how they can improve their environment!

Design and Technology

Have a go at making sliders to retell the story. If you want to, you can video your story and send it to us! Don't worry if you can't print the pictures and background out - you can always draw your own!

P.E - Following the theme of sliders, get active by learning the'Cha Cha Slide'!

Make sure you do some stretches first!

If you want a challenge, now try the Cha Cha Slide Plank Challenge! Be careful, make sure you warm up and only do what you feel comfortable with!
